MANGALORE: IM Thejkumar of South Western Railway, with eight points, maintained his half-point lead at the end of the ninth round of the Mangalore FIDE-rated open chess tournament here on Thursday.

The defending champion drew with S. Satyapragyan of Indian Airlines in 19 moves.
