KOCHI: The Human Rights Forum of India has sought a vigilance inquiry into the death of a patient at the District General Hospital. In a statement issued here on Thursday, the Forum has said that such a tragedy points to the irresponsible attitude of hospital authorities who are supposed to ensure protection and treatment of people reaching the institution. Condemning the attack on doctors and the staff at the District General Hospital, the representatives of Indian Medical Association, Kerala branch, have said that the culprits should be arrested and given proper punishment. Law needed Reiterating the need for the Hospital-Patient Protection Law, Sreekumar Vasudevan, president and J. Rajagopalan Nair, secretary of the Association, have said that the Chief Minister and the Health Minister need to keep the promise of implementing the Act without delay.
