HASSAN: There were many surprises in store for Superintendent of Police K.V. Sharatchandra and his team when they carried out searches at the district jail here on Friday. Mr. Sharatchandra said here on Saturday that there had been complaints that prisoners were using mobile phones to contact witnesses and were threatening them. The Superintendent of Police, who led a team of officers and RAF personnel, recovered a knife, seven mobile phones, six chargers and seven SIM cards.
