Film stars, politicians to take part in the event Tickets available at the district stadium DAVANGERE: The Karnataka State Cinema Choreographers and Dancers' Association is organising a three-day cricket tournament for film stars here from July 23. Eight teams have been formed for the tournament. Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, president of the association Rajesh Brahmavar said that actor Sudeep would lead the dancers' team, actor Upendra the editors' team, actor V. Ravichandran the directors' team and director Indrajit Lankesh the cameramen's team. Actor Shivaraj Kumar would lead the producers' team, while “thriller” Manju would lead the fighters' association team. Besides, Health Minister B. Sriramulu would lead a team of MLAs, MPs and Ministers. A team from the Press Association too would take part. The organisers decided to hold the tournament in Davangere as the city had been fostering Kannada cinema and theatre, Mr. Brahmavar said. There would be an entertainment programme at the end of each match. Tickets would be available at the district stadium. Funds collected through the programme would be used to help workers in the field of cinema, Mr. Brahmavar said.
