Rain effect: Puskhara irrigation canal which got breached near Gavarapeta in Tuni Mandal on Sunday. TUNI: About 150 acres were submerged in Gavarapeta on Sunday due to breach to Pushkara irrigation canal. According to Assistant Engineer Kondala Rao, irrigation department took up works at Annavaram aqueduct recently and heavy rains last week did not allow the water to flow freely in canals. Due to this the force of water had led to breach near Gavarapeta village about 15 km from here on Sunday. The water entered the cotton farm of M. Apparao and M. Nookaraju and also submerged vegetable nurseries. Mr. Kondala Rao visited the spot and engaged a poclaine to divert the water.
