Ghaziabad: A 25-year-old undertrial lodged in Dasna District Jail died in the prison hospital on Sunday evening but his family have charged the prison authorities with negligence and demanded a probe.
Shajad, who was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder and remanded to judicial custody on December 27 last year, had been ailing for the past few days and was admitted to the jail hospital where he died on Sunday, Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family. However, the family accused the authorities of not providing him proper treatment and sought a probe. - PTI
