Missing Shiva devotees traced

Staff Reporter

ONGOLE: As many as 21 Shiva devotees lost their way in the dense Nallamalla forests late on Wednesday, but police established contact with them thanks to mobile phones in their possession on Thursday.

Following a complaint, Prakasam district police, who began search early on Thursday, established contact with them through their mobile phones. ''The devotees have been safely guided to Srisailam in the evening'' Markapur Deputy Superintendent of Police L Subbarayudu told The Hindu. He said the devotees, all from Yeragondapalem in Prakasam district, trekked to a natural cave temple in Palanki village in the dense forests to offer special prayers to “Swayambulingam”'. But they lost their way and drifted towards Mahbubnagar district.
