Ankit finishes eighth

MONCTON (Canada): Ankit Sharma finished eighth in the men's long jump final of the IAAF World junior championships here on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old Indian jumped 7.40m well below his personal best of 7.77m achieved this season. He had recorded 7.60m in the qualifying round.

Luvo Manyonga of South Africa (7.99m), Eusebio Caceres of Spain (7.90m) and Taylor Stewart of Canada (7.63m) won the medals.
