CHENNAI: Brandhouse Oviesse, a joint venture between Brandhouse Retails of SKNL group (S. Kumars Nationwide) and OVS Industry (Oviesse) of Gruppo Coin of Italy, a leader in apparel retailing, is planning to set up over 190 stores in India in the next five years. The company will be opening one of its first ‘OVS Industry' fast fashion stores in Chennai soon. In an interaction with The Hindu, Ashok Dalal Managing Director and CEO of Brandhouse Oviesse, said two more stores were coming up one each in Bangalore and Delhi. The joint venture would have pan-India presence covering metros, mini metros, Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, he said. The plan was to invest Rs. 161 crore over five years. The core target was the mid-price and premium segments in the age group of 18-35 years, which formed 30.2 per cent of Indian population. According to Anjani Kasliwal, Director, OVS Industry was a leader in the Italian clothing market with a turnover of 870 million euro. Going through the customer profile of Brandhouse, she said 70 per cent were women.
