Rakesh meets Raj Kumar

BANGALORE: Rakesh Pandey of Haryana and Punjab's Raj Kumar set up a title clash in the STU 5 category of the National badminton championship for the physically challenged here on Thursday.

In the semifinals, Rakesh beat R. Badrinarayanan of Tamil Nadu 21-8, 21-9 while Raj defeated M. Jesu Antony Adimai, also of Tamil Nadu, 21-11, 21-8.

The results (semifinals):

Men: STL 1: Dilishwar Rao (Andaman & Nicobar) bt K. Gopinath (Kar) 21-15, 21-14; Pramod Bhagath (Ori) bt Siddana Sahukar (Kar) 21-16, 21-16.

STL 2: Amarendra Behera (Ori) bt A. Sreekanth Reddy (AP) 21-11, 21-18; S. Raghuram (AP) bt T. Elanchelian (TN) 21-6, 21-6.

STL 3: Ashutosh Diwedi (U.P.) bt B. Anand Kumar (Kar) 21-14, 10-21, 21-19.

STL 4: T. Sanjeevaiah (AP) bt Raghuram 14-21, 21-10 , 21-19; J. Satyam (AP) bt P. Nagaraju (AP) 21-8, 21-7.
