KUMBAKONAM: The Kumbakonam East police arrested five persons who allegedly prepared fake passport documents and cheated people here on Wednesday. According to police, Swaminathan and Basheer Ahamed of Tirupanaiyur, Khaja Mohideen of Tiruvidaichery, all from Nagapattinam district, Akthar Ali of Melakavery near here and Pandian of Tiruvarur, used to prepare fake documents for getting passports at a house at Melakavery.

Police were acting on a complaint from K.Balamurugan, Passport Officer, Tiruchi.
