Bypolls to be webcast

SANGAREDDY: For the first time in history, the byelections will be webcast to the Election Commission of India officials on the polling date. As many as 10 polling stations in the Siddipet Assembly constituency have been selected for the purpose. Similarly, video cameras are being placed in all the 129 polling station premises to record the event.
Disclosing these details at a press conference here on Thursday along with Superintendent of Police A. Sunder Kumar Das, Collector S. Suresh Kumar said that all arrangements for the conduct of elections were complete including training of polling personnel, micro-observers and counting staff.
Placement of polling staff would be decided on the morning of July 26. He said that local holiday would be declared on the polling day (July 27) and a four-day holiday was declared for the Government College at Siddipet, where counting would take place on July 30.
Security
Mr. Das said that around 2,000 security personnel were being deployed for the conduct of elections. The forces would include Central Industrial Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Tamil Nadu Special Police and Andhra Pradesh Special Police in addition to police forces from Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda.
