Harassment case against software engineer
Staff Reporter
TUNI (East Godavari): A case has been registered against M. Subrahmanyam, a software engineer living in Sydney at present and a native of Kakinada, following a complaint that he is harassing his wife Gundubilli Umamaheswari of Tuni.
According to Sub-Inspector A. Sanyasi Rao, the couple got married in August 2006 and consequently had a son and Subrahmanyam got a job in Australia (Sydney).
He took his wife and son to Sydney and allegedly started harassing his wife. “He pressurised me to give divorce and both my in-laws and husband tortured me in many ways which I could not explain in words,” said Umamaheswari in the complaint.
During the second week of this month, Subrahmanyam sent his wife, who was ailing, along with passport and son to Hyderabad where she was received by a friend of Subrahmanyam. He took the passport, Subrahmanyam's son and other luggage along with him and left Umamaheswari at the airport.
With the help of others, she reached Tuni two days ago and narrated her plight to her parents who lodged a complaint against Subrahmanyam, his father and mother on Thursday.
