HYDERABAD: A speeding tipper crushed to death a tea-stall owner and his two children on road No. 78 near Padmalaya studio in Jubilee Hills on the drizzling Friday evening as it fell dark earlier than usual with thick clouds hovering in the sky. L. Balakrishnaiah, 30, has picked up his son, Sandeep, 6, and daughter, Sravani, from their school and was taking them to his tea-stall in Manikonda when the accident occurred around 4.30 p.m. Death was instant for all the three, Jubilee Hills Inspector, K. Narsinga Rao, said. The tea-stall owner was riding down the inclined road towards Whisper Valley when the oncoming tipper rammed into the bike. “Darkness descended on the area with thick clouds all over the sky and the road too was slippery due to drizzling. The tipper was obviously at high speed and the bike rider might have failed to notice it,” the Inspector said. All the three victims fell off the bike and came under the rear wheels of the four-wheeler. Originally from Mahbubnagar district, Balakrishnaiah came to city in search of job five years ago. He used to live at Filmnagar and had recently set up the tea-stall at Manikonda. Along with the children, he apparently planned to go to Manikonda, where his wife was waiting, and return home when tragedy struck the family, the police said.
