‘Nellore region records lowest accident rate'

NELLORE: TheAPSRTC Nellore Region, recorded less accident percentage when compared to other 22 regions in the State.

While the accident rate in the State was 0.10 during the year 2009-10, the accident percentage was 0.07 in Nellore Region in the last two years. The district has also recorded the lowest breakdown rate of buses in the Corporation last year. Explaining the achievements of the region in preventing road accidents, lowest breakdown of vehicles, good managerial performance and highest HSD KMPL in the State, the officials are sensitising the drivers to maintain ‘accident free record'. The Corporation which is observing `Accident-Free Week' from July 19 has taken up a special drive in maintaining the condition of buses, enlightening of drivers on traffic rules and regular medical checkups for the staff.
