THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Delimitation Commission has published a draft report of the delimited wards in the newly constituted civic bodies and urban bodies to which panchayats have been merged. The report comprising the details of the delimited wards in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode corporations, Kottayam, Thripunithura, Irinjalakuda, Kodungalloor, Guruvayur, Karunagapally, Thrikkakara, Eloor, Maradu, Kottakkal, Nilambur and Neeleswaram municipalities was published on Friday following the clearance of the High Court. The number of wards in Thiruvananthapuram has increased from 86 to 100 following the merger of Sreekaryam, Kudappanakkunnu, Vizhinjam, Kazhakkuttam and Vattiyoorkavu panchayats. Kozhikode Corporation has 75 wards following the merger of Elathoor, Cheruvannoor-Nallalam and Beypore panchayats. Following the merger of adjoining panchayats, Kottayam municipality has 52 wards, Thripunithura 49, Guruvayur 43, Irinjalakuda 41 and Kodungalloor 44 wards. The newly constituted Karunagapally has 35 wards, Thrikkakara 43, Eloor 31, Maradu 33, Kottakkal 32, Nilambur 33 and Neeleswaram 32 wards. Complaints on the draft report can be submitted to the District Collector before July 30.
