BANGALORE: Lakshmi Suryanarayan and Varsha Sanjeev went down to Chitra Magimairaj and R. Uma Nagaraj, respectively in the group stage of the 22nd State Ranking women's snooker event, but nevertheless qualified for the semifinal.

Lakshmi Suryanarayan lost quite tamely to Chitra, who won 61-11, 51-16. Uma was equally ruthless against Varsha winning 62-8, 54-12.

In the semis, Chitra will take on Varsha while Uma Nagraj play Lakshmi, for a berth in the final.

The results: Chitra. M bt Lakshmi Suryanarayan 61-11, 51-16; R. Uma Nagraj bt Varsha Sanjeev 62-8, 54-12 .
