KOLKATA: One person died of A (H1N1) flu in Kolkata late on Wednesday, taking the number of swine flu deaths in West Bengal since July 1 to three. With nine more positive cases of A (H1N1) flu detected in the State on Thursday, the total number of persons afflicted with the virus stood at 91.

According to a statement released by the State Health Department's swine flu wing, the latest person to die of the flu was a 66-year-old. He was admitted to a private hospital on Wednesday with severe hypotension and metabolic acidosis after suffering from fever and throat infection from July 24. The statement said the patient's throat swab test confirmed swine flu infection on Thursday.
