KARIMNAGAR: The use of ballot paper in the by-elections from Sircilla, Korutla and Huzurabad assembly segments is costing dearly for the TRS candidates with several Independent candidates, who were fielded by the TRS, securing good number of votes and majority of votes being rejected during the counting of votes on Friday.
After the fourth round of counting of votes in Huzurabad Assembly segment, it was found that the Independents had secured a total of 7,115 votes and another 1,816 votes were invalid. Similarly in Korutla Assembly segment, till third round of counting of votes, about 4,729 votes were secured by Independent candidates and another 943 votes were rejected.
In Sircilla Assembly segment, the Independents secured 8,950 votes and about 1,710 votes were rejected till the completion of third round of counting of votes in the evening.
The TRS supporters feel that the Independents and invalidation of votes would be more as still there are several rounds of counting in all the three segments.
