KOCHI: After being a mere spectator last year, Mohan George opened his campaign with a comfortable 323-201 victory over the young Hussein Cochinwala and entered the men's semifinal of the 51st Kerala State senior billiards championship at the Regional Sports Centre here on Saturday evening. Mohan, a former champion from the host club RSC, had missed the State championship last year with a back problem, but today, he dominated the match against Cochinwala, last year's State junior silver medalist in both billiards and snooker. Meanwhile, Coronation Club's Viraj Ruparel and the host club's P.V. Timothy entered the last-eight stage. The results: B illiards, 90-minute matches : Quarterfinal: Mohan George (RSC, Kochi) bt Hussein Cochinwala (RSC, Kochi) 323-201. Pre-quarterfinals: Viraj Ruparel (Coronation Club, Mattancherry) bt P.
