Women to head seven district panchayats

Thiruvananthapuram: The post of president of the district panchayats of Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod are reserved for women.

According to a State Election Commission notification, the president's post in Thrissur will be reserved for Scheduled Castes community.

Vice-president's posts

In Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Wayanad, the post of vice-president will be reserved for women.
