Varsity move to honour N. Ram, Ramachandran, Dakshinamoorthy

KOTTAYAM: The academic council of Mahatma Gandhi University has decided to recommend to the University Syndicate to award honorary doctorate degrees (D.Litt.) to N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu, renowned artist A. Ramachandran and veteran musician V. Dakshinamoorthy.
Outstanding
contributions
The awards are in recognition of the outstanding contributions of Mr. Ram, Mr. Ramachandran and Mr. Dakshinamoorthy to journalism, art and music respectively.
The decision was made at a meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Rajan Gurukkal.
The university authorities said the date and venue of the function would be decided later.
