Ultras take official hostage

Latehar (Jharkhand): A government officer on Sunday claimed that he was taken hostage by the Maoists for an hour, who complained to him about corruption before setting him free in Latehar's Doki village.

The District Development Officer, Sudhansu Bhusan Ram, said “I went to inspect developmental schemes when some naxalites took me and held me up for an hour. They complained about corruption in the ongoing developmental schemes in the village.”

Ram said the ultras set him free without any harm. -- PTI
