Adopt a positive outlook, journalists told
Special Correspondent
PANAJI: Chief Minister of Goa Digambar Kamat has asked journalists to adopt a positive outlook while discharging their duties.
Mr. Kamat was the chief guest at a function to make the death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak here on Sunday.
The function was organised by the Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ).
Mr. Kamat said that public opinion expressed in the columns of newspapers was necessary for the success of any community programme taken up by the Government.
The media therefore, before writing on any community project, should verify the information.
Constructive criticism was welcome but baseless criticism could scuttle several projects benefiting the people, the Chief Minister said.
Paresh Prabhu, Editor of Navprabha, a daily and Menino Peres, Director of Information, were present.
