Rs.600 crore for road modernisation

‘Basic infrastructure development work worth Rs.8,000 crore under way in State.'


PATHANAMTHITTA: The State government will spend Rs.600 crore for modernisation of various roads that come under the Other District Roads (ODR) category, Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac has said.

Dr. Isaac was inaugurating the renovation of the Kadapra-Veeyapuram State Highway at Niranom, near Thiruvalla, on Sunday.

Infrastructure

He said the government had been prioritising basic infrastructure development and welfare schemes.

Basic infrastructure development work worth Rs.8,000 crore were under way in different parts of the State, he said

Welfare pension

Arrangements had been made to disburse welfare pensions up to September.

Anto Antony, MP, delivered the keynote address at the function.

Mathew T. Thomas, MLA, presided over the function.
