Meeting to make I-Day preparations in Karwar

Karwar: A meeting of officials was held at Karwar by K. Amaranarayana Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada district on Monday to make preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
The tri-colour will be hoisted at the Deputy Commissioner's office at 8 a.m. on August 15.
At 8.45 a.m., all district-level officers, NCC and Scouts cadets, Home Guards and schoolchildren will gather at the Police Ground here.
Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, district in-charge Minister, will hoist the flag at the police parade ground at 9 a.m.
In the evening, cultural programmes will be held at the district auditorium.
This time, freedom fighters and achievers in different fields will be honoured, according to a press release issued by the district administration.
