Software engineer cheated

Chennai: A software engineer was allegedly cheated by a suspect who posed as a policeman. Police said Rajath Gupta of Gill Nagar was going to the Elliots Beach with a couple of his friends in a car when the suspect who came in a motorcycle intercepted them on the Besant Nagar 36th Cross Street.

He forcibly got into the vehicle and threatened to book false cases against Rajath Gupta and others.

Rajath Gupta offered a sum of Rs.33,000 to the suspect and drove to an ATM facility nearby to withdraw money and give the suspect.
