Masonry training for youths

VILLUPURAM: District Collector R.Palanisamy on Monday gave away certificates and monetary incentives to 30 candidates who underwent the masonry training to equip them to take up assignments under the Kalaignar Housing Scheme. The Collector said that the Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation had proposed to train a total of 900 youths in the masonry in Villupuram district.
The first batch was trained by the Carmel Industrial Training Institute at Narasinganur from June 2 to July 27. An incentive of Rs 4,500 and apparatus worth Rs 500 each were given to the candidates who successfully completed the training, the Collector said. The Collector also distributed certificates to 870 candidates who underwent training in computer skills under the Mahalir Thittam.
