Doubles title for Gowda-Khade

BANGALORE: Vinod Gowda and his junior Davis Cup teammate Arjun Khade won the boys' doubles title in the ITF junior tennis championship which concluded at Amman on July 31. The Indian pair defeated Abdal and Bouthamad of Kuwait 6-3, 6-2 in the final.

In the girls' doubles final, Bavi Setti of India and Sherie Ahmed of Egypt beat the Indo-Pak duo of Spurti Shivalingaiah and Ushna Suhail 6-3,6-2.

Earlier in the singles semifinals, Spurti went down to Mai el Kamash of Egypt 0-6, 1-6.

Both Vinod Gowda and Spurti Shivalingaiah are trainees of KSLTA's High Performance Training Centre in Bangalore.
