Bharatiya YSR Congress Party launched

Special Correspondent

KADAPA: N. Ravi Kumar of Hyderabad has floated a new political party named “Bharatiya YSR Congress Party”, which he says, will strive in a planned manner to uplift the downtrodden sections, women and poorer sections, taking cue from former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Announcing this at a news conference at YSR Memorial Press Club here on Monday, Mr. Ravi Kumar, belonging to Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad, said he had set up the party to carry forward the goals envisaged by Rajasekhara Reddy. Empowerment of the downtrodden and weaker sections, eradication of poverty and illiteracy and ensuring free education to all sections of people were his avowed goals, he said.

The party's treasurer P. Ramakrishnaiah accused the State government of merely issuing media statements but failing to properly implement schemes launched by YSR.

He stressed the need for restoration of YSR-mark rule to benefit all sections of people.

Injustice

The party's general secretary M.A. Mujeeb asserted that the party would wage movements in the towns and villages across the State to enlighten people on the injustice being meted out to them by the Rosaiah government.

Bharatiya YSR Congress Party organising secretaries B. Jayachandra Reddy, K. Linga Murthy, M.A. Qayoom, G. Sadan Kumar and executive members participated.
