Call for enrolment with Welfare Board

TIRUVARUR: District Collector M. Chandrasekaran urged members of the Puthirai Vannar community to enrol themselves as members of the Puthirai Vannar Welfare Board set up by the State government recently, to enjoy various benefits.In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Mr. Chandrasekaran said the State government has set up welfare boards for the benefits of the members of the various depressed communities. The government has announced various benefits to the members of the Puthirai Vannar Welfare Board.

Traditional occupation

The members of the Puthirai Vannar community in the age group of 18-60 years, who are still pursue in their traditional occupation , could enrol themselves as members of the Board.

Only those who have not enrolled themselves as members of any other welfare board were eligible to become members of the Puthirai Vannar Welfare Board, the release said.The Collector called upon the Puthirai Vannar commu nity members to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the government.
