Upping the ante:Members of the DMK Youth Wing staging demonstration in protest against AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa at Chinthamani in Tiruchi on Wednesday. TIRUCHI: Cadre of the Youth Wing of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) staged a demonstration here on Wednesday condemning former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's attitude of seeking frequent adjournments in the disproportionate wealth case against her that has been pending before a Bangalore court. A large number of youth wing members carrying party flags from various parts of the district, assembled near the Anna statue at Chinthamani where they raised slogans against Ms. Jayalalithaa. The demonstration was led by the party MLA Anbil Periyasamy. A. Soundarapandian and K.N. Sekaran, MLAs, and M. Anbazhagan, Deputy Mayor, were among those who took part in the demonstration. The Karur By-Pass Road and College Road leading to the Chathram bus stand were closed for traffic for some time . Traffic was diverted on roads leading up to the Chinthamani . Many motorists and bus passengers were taken by surprise by the diversion in the morning hours. A posse of police personnel were deployed at vantage places including Kohinoor Theatre junction, Karur By-Pass Road and at the demonstration venue. Several town and mofussil buses were halted away from Chathram bus stand.
