Two killed in road accidents

TIRUCHI: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in the city on Wednesday.

Police sources said a group of people was travelling atop plastic items transported in a mini goods carrier, when the vehicle overturned on the Tiruchi–Madurai national highway at Panchappur . One of the passengers M. Kulandaivelu (40) died on the spot while four others sustained injuries.

In another incident, a pedestrian was fatally knocked down by a private bus on the Tiruchi–Thanjavur national highway at Malayappa Nagar. The deceased was identified as Abdul Jabbar (60). Jabbar was crossing the road when the Tiruchi-bound bus from Thanjavur hit him.
