DM & HO asked to take necessary steps to improve the facility VIZIANAGARAM: Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah said that vacancies in G. L. Puram Government Hospital would be filled on deputation shortly. The Collector, who stayed for the night as part of the ‘Grama Sandarshana' programme at the Government Tribal Welfare Ashram School at Kothaguda in G.L. Puram mandal on Wednesday night, inspected the hospital on Thursday morning. After receiving details from medical officers, he rang up DM & HO J. Sarojini and asked her to improve facilities at the hospital that was damaged by locals a few months ago in protest against the absence of medical officer. Condemning such incidents, he said that additional accommodation at a cost of Rs. 2.60 lakh would be provided at the hospital. Earlier, at Kothaguda Ashram School, the Collector interacted with students and elected representatives and heard their problems. Sarpanch Padmalata urged the Collector to sanction a compound wall, quarters for teachers and a drinking water scheme for the school. Parvathipuram RDO B.R. Ambedkar, Mandal Special Officer Venkataratnam and DPRO V. Maniram stayed overnight along with him at the school.
