District-level officers meeting held in Bijapur ‘Government has released sufficient funds' Bijapur: Karnataka State Minority Commission Chairman Khusro Kureshi has instructed officials to implement all government schemes within the stipulated time and also to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reached the beneficiaries in Bijapur district. Speaking at a meeting of district-level officers at the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Wednesday, he said that the Government had released sufficient funds for the welfare of minority communities in the State. Ire over failure Expressing ire over the failure of the officers to provide earmarked facilities to madrasas in the district and to appoint teachers for them, he said that steps should be taken to appoint teachers in madrasas, arrange mid-day meal scheme and provide 30 per cent of funds under Sarva Shiska Abhiyan to construct toilets, provide drinking water facility and computer laboratories. He also instructed the district Child and Family Welfare Department Deputy Director to provide facilities for anganwadi centres of minority communities. Meeting In response, the deputy director said that a meeting of officers concerned would be convened in a week and steps would be taken to provide all facilities to anganwadi centres. Deputy Commissioner S.S. Pattanshetty, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K.H. Kaknur, Additional Superintendent of Police F.A. Trasgar and other district-level officers were present at the meeting.
