Over 300 tribals given community certificates

DHARMAPURI: As many as 354 tribals were given community certificates at a programme held at Sitheri, a tribal village in Pappireddipatti taluk on Wednesday.

The certificates were distributed to the tribal Community people by Collector P. Amutha. While speaking to the villagers at the function, Ms. Amutha said that she would explore all possibilities to help the tribals. The huts of the tribals will be rebuilt as concrete houses under the Kalaignar Housing Scheme. The district administration will conduct a survey about those living in government porombok land and action would be initiated to issue pattas to the eligible beneficiaries.

As the Central and State governments are extending various schemes to the tribals, she appealed to the people to give good education to the children so that they can avail all the welfare assistance and benefits from the governments.

The Collector also gave away pension order to 33 senior citizens under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension to 21 persons and identity cards from the Tribal Welfare Board.

Moyeesan, Revenue Divisional Officer, Harur, T. Ramadurai Murugan, Tahsildhar, Pappireddipatti and Rajeswari, District Adi Dravidar Welfare Officer participated.
