Applications for water management awards invited

ADILABAD: Individuals, NGOs, institutions, Gram Panchayats and urban local bodies can apply for National Water Awards and Ground Water Augmentation Awards of the Union government for their outstanding work in water sector. Those who excel in management of water and efficient use of water by construction of recharge structures can apply for these awards.
According to G. Kumaraswamy, Deputy Director Ground Water, the applications should reach the Director Ground Water, B.R.K. Bhavan, Hyderabad latest by August 31.
The applications should be processed through the concerned MPDO and CEO ZP duly recommended by district Collector.
Screening
A State-level screening committee will select the best entry for a Rs. 1 lakh cash prize and citation. The best entries will be nominated for selection for awards at national-level.
