Suspect slashes wrists in police station

GUNTUR: The Vinukonda police went into a tizzy on Thursday after a suspect, on being questioned over seizure of crude bombs from his house, slashed his wrists and collapsed in the police station. The incident took place at Nuzendla police station in Vinukonda circle.

Gopala Reddy, a resident of Datlavanivaripalem village, was summoned after a police search party unearthed crude bombs hidden on the premises of his house.

Even as the police were quizzing him about his antecedents, the man suddenly whipped out a blade and slashed his wrists. The police rushed him to a local private hospital where he was treated. His condition is stable.
