Camp for widows, differently abled

TIRUVARUR: A special identification camp was conducted at the Tiruvarur taluk office on Friday to spot differently abled persons and widows in the taluk for receiving pension under Indira Gandhi National Pension Scheme.

Eighty persons attended the camp of which 32 widows and 16 differently abled persons were identified. Mr.M.Chandrasekaran, District Collector, gave orders to three of them. He said in the district there are 1,563 differently abled persons and 7,388 widows. He said similar camps would be held in rest of the six taluks before the end of August. S.Sangeetha, Probationary Deputy Collector, Suresh and Ramakrishnan, orthopaediac surgeons and V.Subramanian, District Rehabilitation Officer for differently abled participated.
