TASMAC official, staff arrested

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption sleuths arrested a woman official and her sub-ordinate working in TASMAC here when they received Rs. 2,000 bribe from a salesman on Friday.

Vigilance sources said that the official had demanded the money from Ramakrishnan, salesman in the TASMAC retail shop in Sundarajapuram, for helping him get his suspension order revoked.

Following a complaint, the DVAC Deputy Superintendent of Police, V. Shyamala Devi, laid a trap and arrested the official and the subordinate who took the money on her behalf.
