“No irregularity in appointment of teachers”

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi on Saturday said there is no irregularity in the appointment of teachers through the Teachers Recruitment Board.

Reacting to criticism in the matter of appointment of teachers, he said in a statement that the board was adhering to the G.Os and procedural rules. The list of selected candidates was being put on the board's website. The Chief Minister also said as far as the School Education Department was concerned, in the last five years general transfers of teachers was being done in a fair and transparent manner benefitting all teachers. He also gave the statistics of beneficiaries and said the teachers associations had complimented the government in the matter.
