Postal cover on Ripon Building soon

Majestic: Ripon Building in Chennai.
CHENNAI: Running up to its 100 {+t} {+h} year since its inception, Ripon Building, the seat of the city's civic body – Chennai Corporation – is all set to have yet another feather in its cap.
Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology A. Raja on Saturday announced that Ripon Building would get its own commemorative cover and special stamp cancellation. The civic body hopes to release the cover, stamp and other memorabilia as part of Madras Day celebrations, scheduled to begin on August 16. The special cover would have a picture of Ripon Building on one side. On the other side, there would be a description which reads: “Ripon Building is the seat of the Chennai Corporation. This is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture, a combination of three types of architectural styles – Gothic, Ionic and Corinthian.”
