Udupi: President of the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party K.S. Eshwarappa said on Sunday that some political parties were making a false propaganda that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was against the Muslims and the Christians. He was speaking at the valedictory of the State executive committee meeting of the BJP Minorities Morcha. Conceding that Muslims were lagging behind in education, he said the BJP wanted to provide proper facilities to Muslim children so that they took to higher education. The BJP government had allocated Rs. 207 crore to the State Minorities Development Corporation (SMDC). The SMDC would advance subsidised loans to minority communities for education purpose, he said. The members of the BJP Minorities Morcha should have a better understanding of the policies and programmes of the party, Mr. Eshwarappa said.
