KOLKATA: The West Bengal Billiards Association (WBBA) has named a 16-member cue sport squad for the National championship to be held in Pune from August 29. The squad was picked following ranking tournaments and State championship.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, the State secretary D. Mukhopadhyay said two State-ranking tournaments and a State championship would be held from November-December onward.
“These three meets will be the qualifying tournaments for the 2011 National championship,'' he said and added, “we also have plans to bid for theNational meet.''
Billiards: Men: Debasish Mukhopadhyay and Shakeel Ahmed; Ladies: Neeta Kothari and Suniti Damani; Juniors: Mohammad Shoaib Khan and Gurbachan Singh; Sub-juniors: Dishant Mehta and Harshvardhan Goenka.
