BANGALORE: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik inaugurated the annual two-day Commander's Conference at the Indian Air Forces' Headquarters Training Command here on Monday. Annual event The Commanders' Conference is an annual event wherein all the Commanders of IAF's Stations/Units coming under the Training Command discuss about various issues related to training and general administration. The conference is being chaired by the Air Officer Commanding in Chief, Training Command, Air Marshal V.R. Iyer. New inductions Inaugurating the conference, the Air Chief Marshal said the IAF was formidable power in the region and the new inductions it has acquired has made the world take note of its capability. The manifestation of this capability can be seen not only in way the force quickly responds to natural disasters worldwide but also in the challenging mission it undertakes. Emphasising the importance of training air warriors and acquaint them with latest technology in the field of aviation, armaments and radar systems, Air Chief Marshal Naik lauded the role being played by the Training Command in this regard. Awards Air Marshal Naik awarded the Best Flying Training Establishment Trophy and the Best in Maintenance Trophy to Air Force Academy, Hyderabad. While the Best Ground Training Establishment Trophy was given to the Air Force Station Jalahalli, Bangalore, the Best in Administration Trophy was awarded to Air Force Administrative College, Coimbatore.
