KOCHI: The police have issued notice to Nasaruddin Elamaram, president of the Popular Front of India, and P. Koya, State committee member and chief editor of Thejus, to appear before an investigating team in connection with the attack on T.J. Joseph, college teacher, whose hand was chopped of allegedly by activists of the organisation. Mr. Elamaram has been asked to appear before the Circle Inspector of Police, Muvattupuzha, on August 12 and Prof. Koya on August 16. P. Abdul Hameed, general secretary of PFI, and Ashraf Moulavi, president of the Imam Council, did not appear before the police on Monday. They had requested for a week's extension. — Staff Reporter
