Liquor shops to remain open

TIRUVARUR: TASMAC shops will continue to function in the district despite the strike announced by some TASMAC employees associations from August 11 said a release issued by M.Chandrasekaran, Collector on Monday. He said there are 148 TASMAC liquor shops with 148 supervisors and 354 salesmen. Government has declared the strike illegal. Stern action will be taken against those who try to disrupt sales in the shops or cause damage.

Police have made security arrangements and armed police personnel will be posted in sensitive areas. Revenue staff will keep a vigil.
