NEW DELHI: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa led a delegation of State Ministers, BJP MPs and senior leaders to President Pratibha Patil here on Monday and sought her early assent to the “Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2010” which was referred to her by Governor H.R. Bhardwaj. Later, he told journalists that Ms. Pratibha Patil promised to go through the Bill and consider giving assent to it and he was hopeful of getting her nod. Among others, Karnataka Home Minister V.S. Acharya, Law Minister S. Suresh Kumar, Animal Husbandry Minister Revu Naik Belamagi, party senior leaders and MPs M. Venkiah Naidu and H.N. Ananth Kumar, and Karnataka Special Representative here V. Dhananjay Kumar accompanied Mr. Yeddyurappa. Earlier, the core committee members of the BJP's State unit along with Mr. Yeddyurappa met BJP president Nitin Gadkari and senior leaders L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley and discussed party organisational matters.
