SRINAGAR: The Army on Thursday gunned down three militants and seized a huge cache of arms and explosives in two operations in north Kashmir. A gunbattle broke out when militants opened fire on a search party of security forces on Thursday morning in the forest area of Bandipora, 75 km from here, defence spokesman Lt. Col. J.S. Brar said. He said three militants, who are yet to be identified, were killed, adding that troops recovered three AK rifles, 15 magazines and 480 rounds of ammunition from them. — PTI
