Foundation stone for sports hostel

Karwar: Uttara Kannada district in-charge Minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri and Fisheries Minister Anand Asnotikar laid the foundation stone for a sports hostel at Habbuwada in Karwar on Friday.

The Government has released Rs. 50 lakh for the two-storeyed hostel. New technology and rain harvesting facility will be used to build the hostel.

Facilities

The building will have an audio, video and computer hall, study room, tennis, carom and billiards rooms apart from a trainer's room, an office, and a dining hall.

Mr. Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri discussed with the students of the sports school the training facility and food being provided to them.

K. Amaranarayana, Deputy Commissioner, Vijay Mohanraj, Chief Executive Officer, Uttara Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Ganapati Ulvekar, City Municipal Council president, Pratap Kumar, Assistant Director of Youth Services and Sports, and Prakash Revankar, sorts trainer, were present.
